IMPROVED PATIENT CARE

A key philosophy of the company is to allow the hospital team a greater focus on patient care by:

Designing the software to create efficiencies in the administration processes

These underpin prescribing, delivery and drug preparation and hence freeing up time to focus directly on patients. To achieve this we have focused different parts of the medication cycle on the specific users: clinicians, nurses and pharmacists while also facilitating inter disciplinary communication. Alongside this we operate a modular workflow design that mirrors the hospital process but reduces the administrative burden by for example providing pre-prepared prescribing protocols.

Ensuring the ease of use of all our products

This is another important design feature of all products and is reflected in the large number of clinicians, pharmacists and nurses employed within CIS theriak that contribute to creating a intuitive and safe user experience.

Improving the consistency of care

This is a constant theme of our products and is  facilitated by our active decision support, which ranges from our unique DAX – adverse drug reaction system to the design of protocol based chemotherapy prescribing with clear decision points  Best practice sits alongside consistency of care and particularly for more complex prescribing can be delivered as supportive protocols.

Sharing information wherever possible

In our view shared information is integral to patient care. In addition the rich clinical data generated in our system can be used to support governance, audit and research. The patient can also receive medication data and discharge treatment guidelines.

Ensuring the continuity of care

Community care and continuity of care after discharge are areas of growing importance in improving patient care. We do not see our systems necessarily ending with discharge and for example in chemotherapy we are looking to capture, follow up, remission and palliative care in one system that can allow the whole patient journey to be improved under the governance of a central cancer team.
